The Last Day!

It's our last day and hearts are heavy. We woke up to another wonderful breakfast and then several SOPUDEP seniors came to Rea's house. We conducted a Q & A with the seniors to try and get some information and footage to use for our site and to promote sponsoring these students to go to college. Their responses, as always, blew us away. They are such incredible powerful youth with a vision for Haiti and we leave each time in awe of all that they do for their country. Afterwards it was time for some fun! With a few of the seniors and members of Rea's family we all hiked to a waterfall in the hills of Port au Prince. It was such an amazing experience and at the top we had a complete view of all of Port au Prince and we all sat together on the hill, in solidarity. The perfect end to a perfect trip! Afterwards we invited everyone to dinner! We danced, played, and ate with our fellow SOPUDEP seniors and by the end of the night were one big happy family. We are so grateful for this trip and all of those who made this possible for us. We can tell you with absolute confidence that our lives are forever changed. Nous pwal retourner a Ayiti, ou est nou an lakay. (We will return to Haiti. You are our home.)
